Utilising the expertise at C3S Modular, our technical team were tasked with producing a bespoke timekeepers module for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Following the principles of our modular design and manufacturing techniques, this unique building was produced as a permanent structure next to the park’s Velodrome.
Stepping up to the challenge of delivering the completed module in just 3 weeks, the team at C3S Modular worked closely with the client’s design team to meet the demanding aesthetic and functional brief.
The curved structure and cedar clad exterior ensured the module was in keeping with the aesthetic of the adjacent Velodrome; whilst the 4 foot raised floor enabled the perfect viewing angle to be achieved for users of the timekeepers hut.
With the module needing to meet strict Disability Discrimination Act requirements, an automatic sliding door and powered wheelchair lift were included to provide accessibility to the viewing platform.
As a truly unique modular installation, with a demanding functional and aesthetic brief, the project was highly aligned with our skill-sets at C3S. By taking a modular approach to the solution’s construction, and applying our tried and tested project delivery methodology, the timekeepers hut was delivered to budget and ahead of programme.
